Gorgeous Place to Relax and Meditate: The retreat center at Mission San Luis Rey is beautiful. The rooms are comfortable, and the food is pretty good. The grounds are gorgeous, although some of the artwork in the old church is pretty gruesome. The gift shop is nice, as is the museum. It is a really beautiful place, architecturally. I did not like the bats that fly around at night, though.
