Mike's Pub is the kid of hidden gem that is hard to find in the rapidly-changing downtown landscape. For 40 years, Mike's has been tucked away above a parking garage, so you kind of have to be looking for this place to find it. And judging form the regular lunch crowd made up of lawyers and politicos, they don't mind a bit. Inside, a small narrow bar serves no-nonsense burgers, fries and huge beers for a very affordable price.
The only drawback is that they're only open until 7pm. But the real fun comes on a cold fall night when they stay open late for Monday night football, complete with prize giveaways for food and t-shirts.
