From where I live now and from where I attend university, Metropolis Comics is not the closest comic store. Despite the detour, I make the extra effort to come here every Wednesday because of one thing, customer service. Though it may not have the selection of the larger store near school, Metropolis far and away has the friendliest employees a customer would want. Whereas the large store is cold and silent cave, where the employees hardly look at you when you come to the check out, Metropolis' employees are always debating comic and film trivia and are always looking for another opinion. Instead of trying to get you out the door as fast as possible, the Metro employees will ask if you need any help (in my experience) three times before you approach the counter. Now, I understand that the experience at Metropolis also requires customers that are also willing to talk about which Joker is the best one, but that is a personal preference and shouldn't be a problem either way. As long winded as I am, the long and short of it is this. There isn't a better comic shopping experience this side of San Francisco and Metropolis Comics should win hands down.

I have recently started collecting comic books such as Supergirl and I have been looking around for specific comics that I wanted. Metropolis Comics was the one comic shop that had the ones I wanted. Their staff are very helpful and very friendly. You can be there for a few mins talking to them about whats going on with the current events in the comic books. They are very knowledgeable and can answer just about any question you can think of about superheroes. I will definitely continue to return to Metropolis Comics for all my comic needs.

Of all the comic shops I've been to, Metropolis Comics is by far the best!! There selection of comic books and collectibles is amazing and their service is unmatched by any other comic shop. As a regular customer I am always pleased with the helpfulness of their friendly and knowledgeable staff. Truly a top notch Comic shop!

Metropolis is a long, narrow shop, laid out in logical fashion. the New Comics Wall is particularly well thought-out - it's set up in 4 sections, starting with this week's at left, and then going to last weeks, 2 wks ago, 3 wks ago - it's great because you can tell almost at a glance when a monthly comic is due out next.

They've recently painted a big blue field above their cash register and put up a big Superman emblem, it looks cool, and also they've added a Batman neon to the rear of the store, giving the browser some more cool stuff to look at.

The best thing about Metropolis, though, is the staff - very friendly without being overly pushy, attentive and well-read, they were able to help me catch up with the current DC and Marvel Universe story lines very quickly, directing me to key issues and cluing me in to key developments if I express doubt about purchasing so much - in other words, they had read the material and knew how to summarize for me. they have a very good pull and hold program, and overall, I think the very best back issue section I have seen in a long time.

Great! Give me a shop that cares over a huge, faceless shop any day.
