Monday - I stopped in for a second opinion on my need to replace a leaking head gasket. The quote was for $2631 which was $300 less than my original quote. I was told that if Stephens did the work the car would be back in good running shape.
Friday afternoon Tom says that they want to drive it over the weekend to assure that the repair has fixed the problems to their satisfaction.
Next Monday afternoon I pick up the car, the repair has risen to $3368. Tom proceeds to tell me that there are other things that I get to worry about of course, that is after he takes my money. One is a noisy supercharger. NOTE: No mention of this on the estimate.
Tuesday, on the way to work, the Check Engine light comes on. I call Tom and he says to bring it in immediately. After hooking it up to his testing computer he says that the supercharger (what a coincidence) is causing this and that the light will stay on. He has No Fix for this. I say "Tom, the repair only lasted for 1 Day!?" - he just shrugged and walked away.

*CONSUMER BEWARE: I sought several quotes for a Service B on my 2003 MB S430. Tom at Stephens Service quoted $150 along with saying that MB USA had done away with Service B's and are over charging customers for what is a Service A service. Upon arriving at Stephens, my quote increased $100 for their "Service B." I was greatly disappointed in Tom's dishonesty and manipulating tactic to increase the cost of my service, especially after Tom and I spoke twice. I trusted Tom and believed Stephens Service was a honorable and reliable service center, which they are not.
