Don't Believe the Hype
I was disgusted after dining at the 4379 Las Vegas Blvd location: 1) the baby back ribs were dry and lacked flavor and 2) the hot links (2) - left on my plate after one bit - had a rubbery texture. The only thing that salvaged the lunch was dousing the watery sauce on the ribs to eat them, eating the cream corn and potato salad, and drinking the quart of sweetened tea.
Other than that, I wasted $21 and will not be returning to Memphis Championship Barbecue in this life time. Further, I do not understand how this particular location can justify NOT having a military discount. To me, it seems criminal to charge a military member full price. It is not like the food is any good to warrant such high prices.
Accordingly, I am going to give Memphis Championship Barbecue a 2 on a 5 scale. Whomever, gave this restaurant chain a five must have been paid to do so. Real barbecue lovers who have been to Texas, Kansas City, Memphis, and North Carolina know excellent barbecue when they eat it. This restaurant chain should be ashamed to advertise that it is a 3X world champion; the hype does not match the reality.
