Terrible restaurant
I had heard some pretty bad things about this place from locals in Tubac who warned us about a number of things (5 different couples in town) 1) they treat you very rudely if you don't have a reservation
2) God forbid you should ask for a modification of a menu item as you'll be told they don't do that
3) people have actually been kicked out and I don't mean people that are behaving badly - all you have to do is complain that something is not right.
Went anyway and although we did not get kicked out the owner is rude and dismissive and the food is really terrible. Not going back. We should have listened to the locals - I guess the locals always know.

Rude and horrible food
undercooked pasta - seperated cream sauce and fishy salmon. Eggplant parm - greasy with tough rubbery mozzerella. Said I was dissapointed and basically told I was wrong. Owner (brassy blond woman) said she could get me something else and I told her then about my husband's dish which he was also not happy with and that the pasta was undercooked.. Said she could fix that in two min.. he said no.. It was just toomuch trouble. She walked away. I asked her back and for the menu to try something else but she told me they were closed and could only give me something cold (It was 5 min past closing). Chef owner came to the table. I again said the food was dissapointing and that the attitude when I complained was unprofessional. I said I might come back though for the pizza cause I heard it was good. He said - and I quote "I don't care if you come back for the pizza or not:, I then said I've eaten Italian food from Italy to California and this meal was not up to par... Do you not care about word of mouth - l live in Tubac.. He said "We don't care".. Amazing. Thank god there is a new Italian restaurant in Tubac that is wonderful and has amazing service.

The worst dinning experience in 60 years
On arrival we were met by a surly blond women and chastised for coming 15 min early. Looking around the overall appearance was dirty and seedy but we decided to give it a try. Our party started off with cocktails, several had glasses of red wine and they were only 1/3 full, I ordered an extra dry Gibson Martini (cocktail onions) and it came with a lemon twist, I pointed this out and the waitress returned it to the bartender. I looked over and saw the bartender remove the twist with his fingers and replace it with the cocktail onions. The waitress brought the drink back to the table with the onions but it still smelled of lemon. Next was the the food, there is no stretch of the imagination that could even call it palatable. Cold sticky pasta, small hard overcooked shrimp that appeared to have be prepared the day before, at least one day old bread, dirty silverware and the list goes on and on. I asked to see the manager and here she comes (The Blond Women) with our check demanding payment and making a scene, then telling us to get out of her restaurant. We did pay and said we would never be back and at that time the cook also joined in and followed us out into the parking lot both of them yelling and threatening us. There are no redeeming qualities about this restaurant, my advice is to stay away.

Feels like Tuscany in AZ
Who are the two people that complained? I have been going here for 6 years and love this place. The ambiance is sweet and the food is terrific. In addition to wonderful main courses, they offer the best tiramisu in Arizona!

Unexpected Gem in the Arizona Desert
It was a wonderful surprise to find such amazing Italian food in such a small town. The couple who own the place lived in Rome for many years running a Trattoria there. They know their Italian cuisine!
