Not very informative... by AMBER J. at InsiderPages
Took my 22mth old to the Westend office and she was very short, quick and not helpful at all.
I was worried about a bad cough that my child had, and this dr didn't even act like its a reason to be concerned. She even had the nerve to tell me to take my sick child out in the 20 degree weather to help loosen the mucous up. I am sorry but I am not trying to get the baby to catch pneumonia.
After taking my infant to this practice for 7 months I have had enough... the whole experience has been unpleasant. To start everytime I see a doctor they look like a dear caught in headlights even on routine visits. My daughter has been back and forth to see them 9 times over the last month for ear infections and congestion and the only thing they do is prescribe another antibiotic (she has been through 4 now) and they say try saline for the congestion. How many times do you have to see her before you realize what you are doing is not working? When it finally came down to seeing a ENT I couldn't get an appointment for a month and the office could not/would not be proactive and demand a sooner appointment. As a new mother you depend on your pediatrician and this is not one to, they seem just as confused as you are. Unless you want to fork out co-pay after co-pay w/out a true diagnoses don't go here. I switched to Westend Pediatrics and in less than 24 hours they had an appointment with an ENT and were more helpful than Richmond has been in the last 7 months. FYI don't let them give your infant/child the antibiotic shot. I was told it is too hard on their small bodies.
Great doctors for your kids by Janet S. at InsiderPages
My children have been going here for almost 4 yrs now. The office staff is friendly and willing to help. The nurses seem to enjoy what they are doing and it shows when they are working with the children. The doctors are patient and willing to listen to the parents to calm any concerns when you have a sick child, which is very important. The best doctor there in my opinion is Dr Tipton. The only reason for 4 star rather than the higher 5 star is that sometimes the wait for your appointment can be rather long.
PROS: Awesome staff CONS: they run behind for appointments very often
