I took my car to this location for a Carco photo inspection. The inspection was quick, but they failed to give my docs to my insurance company, as they are required to do. I only found out five days later after my insurance company told me that my coverage was moments away from lapsing.

I had to spend a whole lot of extra time and effort scanning and re-sending the docs because they did not live up to their part of the service.

If Mahopac Mavis says you need a wheel alignment (especially if Moe tells you this), get a second opinion! Also be sure to look at the wheel alignment print-out. Sometimes the wheel aloignment is only off by such a very small percentage that it's senseless to get a wheel alignment for this minor issue. But Mahopac Mavis will tell you that you need a wheel alignment anyway

Mahopac Mavis may give you the impression that they're honest. They bring you into the work area, tell you what you need, and you basically trust them. They seem so upfront about everything.

But this is only because they have their "sales pitch" fine tuned to a fine art. Get a second opinion. Mahopac Mavis is not to be trusted. Especially Moe.

Beware of Mahopac Mavis !!!

Mahopac Mavis is a franchise operation. This location should not be confused with corporate Mavis locations. In other words, the Mahopac franchise is not to be trusted as much as other Mavis facilities. Mahopac Mavis is just too sales oriented. They push services that don't really need to be done. In contrast, other Mavis locations seem fair in their dealings.

In fact, I've now heard many "negative" stories about Mahopac Mavis. The Mahopac franchise is just too sales oriented. One story has Moe trying to sell struts to a customer who just installed new struts! Other stories reflect an overall consensus that Mahopac Mavis tries selling services that really can wait. This may be good for sales in the short run, but in the long run, stores like Mahopac Mavis develop a reputation for not being entirely honest.

Personally, I was once told that my car battery needed replacement. So I took my car to another Mavis and was told the battery was just fine. I even took my car to another non-Mavis facility and was also told the battery was fine.

When I called the owner of Mahopac Mavis, I was really surprised to hear his flippant attitude. I was told, "I don't have time for this. If you want to go somewhere else, why don't you."

So -- I never went back to Mahopac Mavis.

Beware of Mahopac Mavis.

push unnecessary repair. one example:brought my car in for inspection and without officially inspecting, they said it would fail due to exhaust - needed $350 in repair to pass. brought my car up the street to tireman and it passed inspection. they said that the exhaust was not cause for failing but did recommend repair.
