Second rate products & service
I purchased a top of the line (ha) $6000 french door from Mastercraft. I paid extra to have it stained, but instead of staining it before installation, they sent an obnoxious "expert" to stain the door once it was installed. When she was "done", she'd left stain all over the 60 glass panes in the door. When I told her the job wasn't finished until the windows were cleaned up, she told me that I had to do that myself, as it wasn't part of her job.
I called Mastercraft numerous times, only to be treated rudely by the manager. I had to go to their showroom and let my temper fly, and then they finally agreed to send someone out to clean it up.
Within 2 months the screen began coming out of the frame due to poor quality workmanship. After more arguing with them, they fin ally replaced the screen.
The paned door began continually coming off the track. When I called them to get it taken care of, the first thing the manger asked me was "Did we install it, because if we didn't, we're not responsible". I assured them that they indeed installed it. He then wanted all of the info from my paperwork, even though he HAD to have records of my purchase and installation.
They sent someone to put the door back on the track. Unfortunately, this happened four more times over the first two years, and I was charged $85 for each service call. They finally seemed to have gotten the door to work correctly, but now the screen sliding door has come off the track and won't go back on as it should. This is going to cost me even more,
As one other reviewed stated, they do not return phone calls. The owner/manager/whatever he is is obnoxious and treats the customer with little to no regard. Their product is second rate at first rate prices and their customer service is non-existant.
I have two more large sliding doors I am going to replace and you can be assured that I will not be using or patronizing Mastercraft for those.
