HOLIDAY MIRACLE -
I'm in the military and I haven't had much opportunity to see my family in the past 10 years, so when I was stationed in San Diego late 2010, i decided to drive up to LA for the Holidays to spend it with family for a change. As luck would have it, my car shit the bed on the way up that evening, smell of fuel everywhere, 1 hour from the family in LA, and 1 hour from San Diego, no tools, in the dark, and with little savvy, to boot. So i found the nearest place open and had it towed there - Mastertech Auto. They were super helpful - they stayed open 45 minutes after closing on the day before christmas eve to wait for the tow truck to get my car there. then they helped me contact every rental car agency in the county, but to no avail. everyone was sold out or closed. they helped me get a hold of amtrak, metrolink, the coaster, but strike one two and three. the flood shut down most of the rail lines, and any remaining tickets were sold out. family doesn't have a car (in LA, i know...), so i was a able to convince a friend in San Diego to come get me in Oceanside. by this time the owner had gotten wind of my plight, and as he drove me in his own car down to the ihop so i could wait for my buddy he told me to call in the morning. exhausted, defeated, and drained, i was getting ready for another lonely holiday. the next morning when i called, expecting the worst, i got the most awesome news. busted fuel line. reasonably priced fix, and ready by the time i could get a ride to oceanside. go go gadget xmas. i had a really nice time with my father and my grandparents, and i guess i'm a little late in saying thanks to everyone at mastertech auto. you did such a great job, so fast, that by the end of the holiday season i'd forgotten the whole nightmare in the first place. anyhow - car's still running better than ever. thanks everyone!
