Great pub!
Interesting fact - Carlisle, PA is located in Cumberland County. Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania was named after Carlisle, Cumberland County, England. There are now sister pubs in both countries! Great idea, even better atmosphere and outstanding selection of beer!

I visited Market Cross pub for Valentines Day recently. We came in just before dinner and didnt end up needing reservations. It's located on Hanover Street in downtown Carlisle. I had heard about the wing specials and was kind of excited to check it out. The beer menu is almost as large as the regular menu, they also make their very own micro-brews! We had the fish & chips, half sandwich & cup of soup, along with a dozen hot wings (I wanted to try nuclear wings, but chickened out). Service was OK, there charged us for 2 sodas, though we only ordered 1, eventually it was fixed. It's pretty much standard pub food, with a few English items thrown in (fish & chips, shepard's pie, beef pastie, tuna melt).They have food & drink specials every day of the week, as well as live entertainment.

I went there yesterday and there was no smoking at the bar area. I ordered the "Chicken basket" which was an order of Chicken strips and "Chips" which are the British term for french fries. I received 3 chicken strips and and A LOT of french fries. ...
