Lunch. Very good appetizer plate with stuffed mushrooms, clams oregenata, fried calamari was great. Everything was very tasty. Unbelievable restaurant you must get to.

Whenever we are in the NYC area we make it a point to eat at Mario's. This is a family run restaurant, and whenever we go they make us feel like we are part of the family. I make it point to try something new on the menu or a special because I know it will be good. It may be a little out of your way if you are visiting Manhattan, but it is worth it.

Gourment comfort food, fabulous service
This was the best meal we have had in New York, including dinner at Babbo which was 3 times the cost. We had to wait a few minutes on a Sunday evening to get a table but it was more than worth the wait. I had the veal scallopini and my wife had the linguini volonge. Both were superb, as good as any I have had anywhere. The veal was in a marsalla wine sauce that I am salivating at the thought of as I write this 5 days latter. The linguini was full of clams and savoury. For dessert we had the tiramisu and canelli both of which are made fresh onsite. They were absolutely dreamy. I would not hesitate to make the trip from Manhatten for dinner again. The service was excellent. We asked the waiter to call a taxi after dinner and he actually accompanied us out to the street to wait for it to ensure we were picked up and the driver had the proper instructions. What more can I say.

A wonderfule experience.
I can't remember the number of times I've been to Mario's. I've never been disappointed. The service is excellent, the food is equally wonderful. Fresh ingredients, prepared for "you", so don't expect fast food. Presentation is artful, and the portions are large. We've allowed the waiter to order for us a number of times and have never gone wrong. Great desserts, and an atmosphere that allows you to really enjoy the evening.
The owner takes pride in a job well done, and is there to make sure you're happy.

Superb Meal and Service
My husband and I wanted to dine at a restaurant in the Bronx for a Birthday celebration. We wanted to be close to home because it was a week night, Thursday. We were surprised to see that poeple come from all over the Tri-State to dine in "Little Italy" of the Bronx, NY. We chose Mario's after looking into the place from the street, because of the "ambience." We eat out often and are quite good at making restaurant choices.
We were pleased with the food and service. I had the recommended fish of the day "Orange Roughy Oreganato" it was fresh fish, moist and tasty. He had his favorite dish 'Shrimp Scampi over Rice" Delicious. We were pleased with our entrees and with desert; "Fresh Pastries." I would recommend Mario's to anyone.
