I am extremely happy with the Marina Pet Hospital. It is easy to make an appointment with the doctor you want.

I go with Dr. Wolfe simply because she was the first doctor I saw there and I never saw a need to change. So, I am not saying anything negative about the others. I just don't know them.

Dr. Wolfe is very knowledgeable, personable, and accessible. I never felt rushed with her. She really helped my Dalmatian live a long, comfortable life.

Their prices are comparable to vets in the Marina area. I really appreciated their early drop off and late pickup options during the weekdays. They are also open Saturday and Sunday! I recommend the pet insurance if you have an older and/or accident prone dog.....

I've been a client of Marina Pet Hospital for 15+ years and I've always received incredible service, with a wealth of knowledge, and compassion for my animal.
When I first went to Marina PH my vet was Dr. Shelia Martin, and every since she left, Dr. Debra Melcon has been tending to my pets.....Both have offered exceptional treatment and guidance throughout the years!

Always easy to get an appointment and you always have the products and dog food I need. Rowena is immensely friendly and knowledgeable. Dr Kim is very thorough, returns phone calls promptly and is terrific at answering questions. Thanks for the opportunity to weigh-in

Average Care | Criminal Pricing | Not Great Listening
Your pet can get average care at Marina Pet Hospital. The problem is they are probably the most expensive vet in the city. For example, getting a puppy spayed costs $250-$400 at most vets. If you buy their pricey insurance plan, Marina Pet Hospital will do the same job at the bargain rate of $600+.

They also don't listen to pet owners and do whatever they want, at least I experienced this. My dog had an issue with his hind legs. The options presented to me were to try an anti-inflamatory and see if it works or to do an x-ray. I stated clearly that I would like to try the anti-inflamatory and go from there. Dr. Kim pushed back but I restated my decision. I was then asked to wait in the lobby. They proceded to do the x-ray anyway, for whopping Marina Pet Hospital prices, more than $500.

I would pay more if I thought my dogs were getting better care. But they aren't. If money isn't an issue at all and this clinic is close to you, go with Marina Pet Hospital. I think the vets are capable and they are all quite likable. That said, I didn't feel listened to and can't afford them so here I am on CitySearch looking for another vet.

Beware
This is the vet who does the neutering and spaying for RocketDog Rescue. When I got my dog she was 5 days post op and both the foster parent and the agency rep said separately "she was supposed to have gotten her shots" -- key words: "supposed to." When I asked them individually why they said that, they told me that the front desk writes down what you request (including microchip) but they can never be sure if it was actually done. WHAT? The vets I go to give you exactly what you request .. It already seemed unrealiable when I heard that. Then I got my dog home and she was immediately ill, incontinent and bleeding and had an abscess the size of a grapefruit inside her abdomen where the spays had taken place. The tests and surgery could add up to $4000-plus. This was for a $175 rescue dog. Never again!
