I'm really not a donut fan. I have to be in the mood for a donut, except, if they come from Marie's. Marie's donuts aren't too light or foo foo like those fancy donuts that you can' find anymore. But they're not too heavy like most donuts either. These donuts are just right. I like their donut holes, applie fritters, but especially the apple bear claws, yum! Everyone else seems to know these are "the" donut in North Highlands. But I'm not sure whether they like the donuts better, or the company. There's an older guy crowd that likes to hang around for a long time at the tables and stools, kind of like an older guys Starbucks hang out. They eat their donuts, and then they just kind of hang around, and around and talk. It's a friendly place and kind of mom and pop kind of family place. There aren't too many places with old time friendliness left, but this is one of them. The donuts really are the best, but have an apple bear claw if you come. YUM!
