No, I would not recommend Dr. MacDougall.My first visit I waited for an hour to be seen. I forgave him that. My second visit,at which time I asked how long the wait was, the response was very rude. Upon seeing him, he to was rude, because i had the gall to complain. His greeting to me was well, you must be a very busy lady.Leaving the office, the staff was very unfriendly, not so much as a smile or a goodbye.

I found Dr. Macdougall and his staff to be very helpful and professional. Dr. Macdougall took a lot of time and care with me addressing every one of my questions and didn't make me feel rushed as I so often do at other medical offices. I am taking my son to see him and will refer him to anyone in need of a dermotologist.

I've been visiting Dr. MacDougall for about 10 years now. I'm pleased that he's 'upgraded' his staff and taken on a partner! There is difficulty getting appointments on short notice, he runs out about two months in bookings for prime appointments.

Excellent beside manner, superior credentials (Stanford!) and very good about attacking questionable conditions. Not so aggressive that he's frantic, but well measured in his approach to treatment.

All around, an excellent experience!

Brought my 6 year old son into see him for severe eczema - his pediatrician's recommendations were not working. Dr. MacDougall gave him a cocktail of 3 ointments and the eczema was cleared up in 1 month with no recurrence and just preventative care. I saw him for a prior condition that a dermatologist in Torrance (after a year of treatments) still had not diagnosed my condition-even after a biopsy and UV treatments and chemical peals. One visit and Dr. MacDougall not only identified it, explained in depth what it was and how to treat it and prevent it if it occurs in the future.
Yes, he is hard to get an appt. with but there are cancellations. Yes, his office staff can be distracted at times but I find absolutely nothing wrong with Dr. MacDougall. For the reviewer who had to wait for a half hour, it was probably because Dr. MacDougall was taking the time and interest in explaining what the problem was and how to treat it. I don't mind waiting if I know I'm going to get the same level of care, time and explanation that an earlier patient is recieving. He's a great dermatologist and I would recommend him without reservation!

I saw 6-7 doctors for a minor issue, and NONE of them got it right. After a year and a half, saw Dr. MacDougall, and in seconds he knew what it was. I would recommend Dr. MacDougall to anyone and everyone. His integrity far surpasses many MD's out there. I am lucky to have found him.
