Their restaurant is great. You can either buy food at the grocery store which is connected to the restaurant and bring it in to eat or order food from the restaurant. It is not a fancy place but has great vietnamees food.

This is a great store. It's far more than your typical asian market because it also has an attached restaurant AND a steam table operation that is quite respectable. Insider's tip-- their two-item combo from the steam table is delicious, feeds two people easily, and it less than six bucks. Try the quail, if they happen to have it when you're there. Fairly decent selection of fresh fish, every conceivable asian spice you might ever need, a small section with asian DVDs-- and even phaleonopsis orchids. They also carry a nice supply of kitchen goods-- from strainers and bowls to rice cookers and soup spoons.

Lucky Seafood is located in Mira Mesa and is near where I work. I occasionally stop by to pick up groceries such bok choy and fish. Lucky Seafood also has a restaurant to the side where I frequently stop by for pho.

I have read all the reviews and realized that all the pompous and narrow-minded people should NEVER go to Lucky Seafood and talk about it like those did.
I am Vietnamese; this place is very Vietnamese, as I can see. They sell things we usually had in Vietnam, though they are not quite fresh sometime. And they do not offer the best cleanliness, which is why I rate it 4 stars (compare with other Vietnamese markets in SD and OC).

We eat things you do not eat, just like you eat things we do not. So, do not call it name disgusting!

i was quite excited when I first found this place. But after looking further in the store, i found that most employees are Vietnamese. Well, I still went ahead and bought some seafood. Let me tell you... I have never had a worse cut of Halibut than this one. The texture and taste was soooo off that it's almost not edible. Now I occasionally go there for maybe some vegetables and pastries. That's about it though. Even some vegetables are just way too old. I think I will just get my Asian food needs from 99 Ranch market.
