I just love Lowes I would be very happy if we had one closer than San Marcos. We have Home Depot in Poway, one in Carmel Mountain and one in Mira Mesa, we NEED a Lowe's close. My experience with Lowes have been very positive and of late my experiences with Home Depot have not been all the great.
Pros: Great customer service! Nicer selection of lighting fixtures and many other items.
Cons: Few locations

Convenient location & extended hours
I like this Lowe's for its convenient location near the 78 freeway, and like all home improvement stores, they have extended hours. Best to go early in the morning before anyone but the professional contractors are shopping. You'll then find staff available to help with your questions - I always have questions in these stores - and they're generally more energetic and pleasant before the crowds come.
They have a nice variety in most departments, specifically the garden department (from pots to plants to fertilizers), lighting (bulbs to fixtures to switches and more), and wall and floor coverings (blinds, drapes, rugs and carpets).
