The staff I have had dealings with at lou's doors which has been almost all the office staff and a couple of the staff out back have all been great to deal with I do weekend work and also work for a large Remodel firm and have bought doors myself and the firm I work for has too and hand NO Problems with the staff or there knowledge of what is available, I bought a Patio Door for a client that had break proof glasses and they called me assoon as it was in as they do every time I order from them.
Ryan is great to deal with and I oftrn pick my doors up at just after 6 am on week days and find it handy that they are open so early.

I never have been treated so rudely and I have never met such a man that has no kind of customer service relations whatsoever. You are better off going to Southern Lumber, they have impeccable staff there. He claimed that he was the owner (I'm pretty sure he was the son of the owner) and yet if talking to your customer from across the room at your desk while she is standing at the front of the main desk, and yelling at her like an uncivilized, ill-mannered chauvinistic bigot and then picking up the phone in midsentence, not finishing his thought while I was standing there waiting for him to make a decision, Ignoring me as if i was going to go away. AND when I asked him to recommend someone else that would take on my job, he gruffly said he doesn't know anyone. Not only is he in the business and obviously he didnt want my business, he won't even recommend someone else to help me, as if he is guarding from competition. Of course he won't be getting my business so i don't know what business he is protecting! These people are hard to deal with, I would rather go to someone that I can communicate with so that I can get the job done right.

My expericence with Lou's Door's would have been better if I had some experience with door installations before hand. They weren't very helpful in discussing all the steps in the process and details of what services they would and wouldn't provide. All the materials weren't provided in a timely manner. Their hours of operation aren't convenient , 6:30 A.M. thru 4:30 P.M. Monday to Friday,if you work day's. The price was good but the poor service more than negated any savings. I had to make many followup calls to get things done. Their choices for payment are Cash or Check, which is again inconvient and harder to withhold payment if a major preformance issue occurs. I feel overall they rate below average, though they seemed knowledgeable.

Our GC, Thibault Builders, used Lou's doors to replace two sets of French doors and eight interior doors on our home in Willow Glen. Ryan at Lou's was very nice to work with during the selection process and stood behind everything we purchased and installed. We have purchased a home in Los Altos and will definitely use Lou's Doors for our fixer-upper! Thanks: Lara from Los Altos
