This place has changed?
I've been eating at this cafe since 1989 and I now live in Austin,TX . When I return to town for the holidays or business I always make it a point to stop in with family or co-workers from Austin.I always talk about growing up on this place and the atmosphere it has.Great food, silly music and the same witty employees. Over the last 10 years the changes have been great remodel, staff, the area has grown so much. The last few years I don't see the same faces, the attitudes have gone down hill, the place is a mess and the atmosphere isn't what it use to be. Boring food and the place was messy. After today I've had my last meal here after saying " One more chance" over the last few years. I even tried the new one in Universal City on the way to Austin with fellow workers. This was even worse. Bad service, the food wasn't made like I remember it being a few yrs ago.It was nowhere the caliber of food the Blanco location once was. It's a shame to see this to a once great establishment turn out like this. It seems to me the staffs and I guess the owners ,new maybe, can't keep up the old longhorn cafe way's of making once great food,or just don't care. Sorry to be the one to say so, but 16 yrs. people start to notice these things. I know I'm not the first to notice.

The Best in the USA
I started eating at the Longhorn when it was still a feed store and the Canyon Creek Country Club still existed. I have never, ever, anywhere found a burger close to theirs. The Jalepeno Cheese Burger is from another planet! Had to move to Mexico for work five years ago, return to SAT twice a year and never, ever leave without going by and eating at least twice. Chris who? You have got to be kidding. That's a joke.

Longhorn Cafe by Lindsay B. at InsiderPages
Longhorn Caf is a great place for a burger. You do not have dress up to come here; it is very casual and laid back. Everything is grilled or fried so it is not the place to go if you are dieting or a vegetarian. But the food is always tasty.

Burgers taste great by helen r. at InsiderPages
The burgers is really what makes this place great. You can smell the burgers being cooked as soon as you walk in. It is hot because they kitchen is an open area to the seating area so the heat from the kitchen makes the place hot but the food is great and makes up for that.

Great atmosphere by Chad I. at InsiderPages
I love this little hole-in-the-wall sort of place. Great burgers with mounds of cheese and good 'ol greasy fries. Nothing fancy, just good food, at good prices, that will make you smile and rub your belly when you're finished.
