The woman who owns this place is very pleasant and helpful. You can tell she loves textiles and is there to inspire everyone around her.
If you don't mind rummaging, this is the perfect place to wander around and see what your creative mind can make. I love all of the vinyls and the fact that there is a big parking lot and i don't have to drive downtown!

I went there for a fairly expensive fabric and the price was about what I expected. But then at the last minute I added on another much lower quality fabric. The bin I picked it from showed other similar fabrics for $5 per yard. I assumed they were fair people and would charge me a reasonable price. I checked out without really thinking, but when I got to my car and looked at the receipt it turned out they had charged me $15 per yard for the low quality fabric. Also, please note that this is not a clean and organized store. Many fabrics do not have a clearly marked price. It's more like a disorganized warehouse where things are just scattered everywhere. I did find one fabric there that I could not find at Jo Anns Fabrics in Santa Monica, but they didn't have another common fabric I was looking for. Bottom line is: beware of them charging you very high prices on fabrics where the price isn't clearly marked. Personally I will not shop there again after the way they ripped me ...

It's not the lowest priced fabric store, but it has an incredible selection of everything from Lexus vinyl to light garment weight materials. Plus it has velcro and elastic in not just neutrals but colors like safety orange and electric fuschia.
I found a beautiful upholstry chenille that usually goes for about $35 a yard on a bolt that said $16- and of course it was mislabeled. But the lovely owner let me have the bolt at $22 per yard, and remembered me and my project (2 fitted sofa re-covers) on my next visit. Great personal service and hey- you don't have to fight the crowds at the garment district!
Nearby? Slave Boutique, Staples and The Talking Stick Coffee House. It's all you really need.
