The best jewelery store in San Diego! We have been customer's of Leo Hamel's for the past 18 years and they are the best. The best customer service, large selection of beautiful jewelry. If you have not been there you are really missing a great jeweler.
Pros: Large selection of Hearts on Fire diamonds, beautiful estate jewelery and wide variety of resale Rolex watches.

I have purchased nearly every piece of jewelry and watch I own from Leo's. This goes back to the early 1980's. The company has gone thru some major changes in that time, with some growing pains, but they seem to get most everything right and I am happy to support them. Leo is a character too! he is very political and if you get him onto the subject of Congress...well watch out! But he's funny too! The sales people are very friendly and help you decide what to buy as opposed to trying to sell you for the sake of a sale. They also buy jewelry and watches and I recently turned a couple item I no longer used into cash. They were fair and I was happy. My latest purchase was probably the most surprising as I am an Internet buff. I wanted a diamond and several friends said, "You must buy on line. You will save money." Well, I spent several weeks search the web. When I found what I thought was the best deal I went in to see Lisa )Leo's sister). She ended up selling me the same grade diamond for about 5% more than the Internet. I was VERY happy. heck, I tip pretty girls 20% all the time for carrying food to my table so I felt paying 7% more for something as important as a diamond was actually a better deal than the Internet. I got "full service" help for "self pump" prices! And Lisa a nice looking lady herself! Moral of this story? You can waste a lot of time looking for "a deal" or you can just support a local business and get great service. Stop by and you will se what I mean but don't asl Leo what he thinks of George Bush or B. Obama. You will get an ear full! <br />
Pros: 100% great store.
Cons: Wish they were closer to home.
