Having experienced a good cross-section of veterinary clinics in the Tallahassee area, it was easy to settle into a relationship with Lakewood. Staff are always helpful and accommodating. Both of the Drs. Richardson are top notch practitioners. What consistently impresses me is the level of knowledge sharing and empowerment in which they are willing to engage with their clients. I've encountered many veterinarians over the years that are overly prescriptive and neglect to engage the client in the plan of care for their companions, but that is hardly the case with the Richardsons. (Over the phone, Scott walked me through immediate care measures after a horse I was sitting foaled. I had absolutely no prior experience with horses, yet managed everything handily under his instruction.) Highest recommendations as a source for care of animals large and small. You will not be disappointed.

I have always been impressed with the way Lakewood Animal Hospital is run. We have brought our dog and cats there many times and the staff always gives the utmost care to both the animals and us. I always enjoy the vibe in the waiting room with all the animals wandering around sniffing each other. I feel this is the best place in Tallahassee to take your pets.

I take all my animals to this hospital. It is very convienet to my house and they have later hours so that I can take them after work. I have 2 cats and 2 dogs, so this is very convenient. I had one of my cats declawed and spayed at the hospital. They asked to keep her overnight to make sure she was ok after the surgeries. This calmed my fears about my cats care. After the surgery, she started to bite at her stiches. We were going out of town and concerened that her incision looked infected. They told us to come by immediately, even though they were closed. They looked at it and gave us some cream for it. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I totally trust the care of my dogs and cats to this hospital. They have such great mannerisms with the animals and owners alike!
