La Regencia is an apartment complex located five minutes southeast of UC San Diego. Although this is one of the cheaper apartment complexes in the area, the management and quality of the apartments are pretty poor. La Regencia has the same owner as Costa Verde Villa Apartments just a block away (check out my review on Costa Verde as well), which is probably why tenants have so much trouble with both places. La Regencia
is notorious for testing the fire alarms at the most inappropriate times, i.e. 6am on a Sunday morning. The worst part about it was the length of time the alarm was kept on. My friend and I had to leave the apartment once because it had been on for more than 30 minutes. Overall La Regencia
is definitely not a place I recommend living. A lot of UCSD students live here since the rent is cheap (like I did), but most people end up leaving after their lease is done.
Pros: Cheap rent and large bedrooms.
Cons: Old appliances and bad management/maintenance
