Best place in all of W-S!

My daughter went to La Petite for years, and the only reason we left was because she graduated Pre-K and went to "big" school. It was wonderful!!! And the School Director, Kathy Divers, was wonderful and just like family to us. She helped me and my family a lot. There is a teacher there named Miss Mary who is also wonderful. She taught my daughter so much! I have recommended this place to many people and I have a neighbors' child who went there. A lot of the staff like Miss Mary and Miss Kathy have been there for a really long time, like 10 or 12 years I think, which you never find at day cares, and this shows how talented and well-loved they are. There is also a great teacher there named Miss Connie who has been with the babies for years. My daughter didn't have Miss Connie but my friends' baby did, and they just loved her. She was wonderful too. I highly recommend this place! It is expensive but very worth it. But they always have a wait list so go there way before you need it.

BEWARE! I would not recommend anyone to send their child to this La Petite Academy. The director (Kathy Divers @ Jonestown, Winston Salem) is very unprofessional, rude, and does not know how to talk to parents when there is an issue concerning your child. To her knowledge and educational background, 3 yr olds don't throw temper tantrums! I switched my child from another center to La Petite b/c it was closer to home but regretted it b/c my child was having difficulties getting adjusted to the switch and La Petite wasn't trying to work with me on this issue. My child stayed there for 3 months and I took her out! She was uncomfortable there and after I had to request a parent/teacher meeting with the director/teacher, I was too!! I had typed up a two weeks notice to inform the center on my child's departing from the center and asked the director if she could sign her name so it could be filed that she was notified for my record and hers, she refused!! Another issue was that as each teacher leaves for the day, children are bumped down or up depending on their ages to the next room.
