My vacuum cleaner required an expensive replacement part ($130). But rather than charge me and send me away, the employee I talked to (the owner's son I later learned) went the extra mile and checked into the warranty. He helped me file my warranty info (which I had neglected to do after purchase) and ordered the part.
Two weeks later, my vacuum cleaner works again and it didn't cost me a cent! I'm pleased to have done business with La Jolla Sew & Vac.
When I'm ready for a *new* vacuum, La Jolla Sew and Vac will have my business. I can trust them to give me useful advice that benefits me first, not just themselves.

I took an old vacuum into the shop, and within 5 minutes, tech looked at it, told me it wasn't worth repairing, suggested buying a new vacuum at a discount store to meet my needs and hooked the vacuum up so I could temporarily use it until I got something else. He then offered to carry it out to my car and when I thanked him all he said was to pay the favor forward. The experience was THE BEST EVER!!! Thank You. You made my day!

Based on a previous review and being a past customer, I took my vacuum cleaner in for repair. The rep told me he would do a free estimate and call me the following day. I hadn't heard from him by early afternoon, so called him. He then told me that he had tried to call me and said that the phone number that I gave was incorrect. He reported that the machine was clogged and the hose was on incorrectly (my husband tried to clean it). He stated that the charge was $50. I asked about the free estimate and he said he fixed it in good faith. When I went to pick it up, I told him that I would not have authorized a $50 repair and asked him to see the phone number that he supposedly tried to call me at. It indeed was my correct number, which he most likely misdialed, if he even tried to call. I offered him $25 which he refused. He then proceeded to undo the hose and said there was no charge.This was undoubtedly the worst retail experience I have had in some time. As I relayed the story to my neighbor, she told me of a similar experience with the shop. We are now both happy with the folks at Pacific Beach Vacuum Repair. Stay away from LaJolla Sew and Vac! The guy is a scammer!!!!
