Staff sucks- priced too high
Head pro at the Palmer course is an arrogant pygmy. It is their whole corporate attitude. Troon sucks. A bunch of Eagle Golf and American Golf rejects that formed a company and move up by kissing a--. Joke of a company and golf course. Glad they opened the TPC and the tour moved.

Great Place to Play
Significant changes in elevation make this an experience to remember. Greens are a little hard to read- wish we had a fore caddy.
Also played the Palmer Course the day before- tough course to play for a bogey golfer but the scenery was awesome.

The main difference between La Cantera Resort Course and the Palmer Course is the Resort's much more open fairways and lack of blind shots. Even though the Resort hosts a PGA Tour event, it is much more playable for the average player than the Palmer Course is.
Hole #7 is a fun hole next to Fiesta Texas. Course has really good risk-reward holes and is fun to play.

If you have the choice, play the Palmer Course instead. The Resort Course is nice, but not manicured like I expected. There a lot of elevation changes and the course offers plenty of challenge, but there are better courses for less money.
