Some friends and I stopped in at the lobby bar here for an hour last Saturday night because one of them had heard how 'great' it was.

Having now been there, I can sum up my impressions in just a few words: Crowded, Cougars, Gold Diggers, Posers, Expensive, Over 40s.

That says it all, I think. If you're looking for a place where you have to fight the crowd to get the attention of one of two bartenders in order to get a few expensive drinks, then you will definitely love this place.

And if you like women over 40, many of whom have been artificially 'inflated' by exaggerated boob jobs and botox, poured into low-cut cocktail dresses, all eyeballing every guy to see who has the most expensive watch, well then this is definitely the place for you.

The guys seemed to come in one of two 'flavors': either middle-aged "Situation" wanna-be's, or flat out old rich guys looking for women who aspire to be trophy wives.

In fairness, I should add that the drinks we had were all well mixed, and the place was crowded. So obviously its successfully appealing to many people. And the light-up bar top was nice looking, and the lobby furniture surprisingly comfortable.

But it just wasn't for me. I thought the gas fireplace was more real than many of the patrons. And it was certainly younger.

Located in the heart of Del Mar and just a block from the ocean. Really a nice place to stay for work or pleasure. The pool is not ideal for little kids but the area makes it worth it. Plus the beach is right down the road. If the kids don't like sand there is a grassy part of the beach as well.
Staff is really friendly as always willing to help. I recommend for sure.

I went there looking for a great relaxing time and was especially looking forward to getting a message, which I did and I must say... her hands where absolutely terrific! Didn't stay long and couldn't afford to take in all the amenities, but that message was perfect!

The estithicians are #1, very knowledgeable and attentive to your every need. Call ahead to make an appointment and know that you are in good hands. P.S. You don't have to be a guest at the Hotel to take advantage of the Spa priviledges. It's a great pampering treat for yourself or someone you love.
