In it for the money. by heather c. at InsiderPages
Konsker was friendly as long as everything went smoothly. Sugary sweet, actually. Halfway through my second pregnancy, I had a question for him, and he was very dismissive. At 38 weeks, I started having contractions - I called him, and went to the hospital at midnight. When I was 8cm, he told the nurse (over the phone) to give me something to hold off labor, he'd be in in the morning.
The nurse had a few words to say about that, and he grudgingly showed up, caught the baby, and was out of there in less than five minutes. He didn't let my husband cut the cord, and refused to collect cord blood. A few days later he made a comment about me having the baby so late at night. Well, I found out from the hospital staff that I was the first person to get Konsker out of bed after midnight in about two years, and he greatly disliked that. It seems to me that he's only happy when things go smoothly, as soon as he has to put some effort into it, his job becomes an inconvenience. Scary sticky sweet outside.
