This is probably the best grocery store in Cheyenne, although if you live somewhere that has a high end King Soopers (or other) grocery store, this one might disappoint you -- it does me. Were I living in a larger community in another state, I'd most likely not give this store as high a ranking. Shoppers will not find near the variety of foods (including deli items) and brands and brand choices as they do at high end stores. Quality and selection in the deli is the best in Cheyenne without a doubt, although it varies from day to day and (like most grocery stores) King Soopers could learn a lesson or two from Whole Foods: Stop drenching deli items in oil or using 40 parts mayonnaise to .1 part whatever else is supposed to be in the dish. The stock of vegetarian fare is laughable -- but not as laughable as in other Cheyenne groceries. For the most part prices are as low here or lower than at Safeway and the exorbitantly priced Albertsons, if not at the super Walmart. And at least King Sooper checkers unload customers' carts. I like that. Most of the checkers are friendly and good at their jobs -- although it'd be nice if someone could train the sackers, who are not familiar with the "green" shopping bags King Soopers sells and have no idea in most cases how to use the pouches in the newest plastic ones or what to put in the older, insulated cloth ones (and they do stuff any kind of bag as full as possible -- once or twice I've thought about hiring a crane to transfer the bags from my car to my house). Carts themselves are in good shape (unlike at the Cole Safeway, where they are so warped and filthy they cross the border into disgusting). King Soopers also gets very high marks for being super clean -- a refreshing change for most other Cheyenne grocery stores. The bakery is okay for Cheyenne, but the employees in this section of the store are the weakest in terms of service and friendliness. (And what's with waiting until the day is half over to stock the pastery and bread sections on weekends?) It is nice to see some of the Denver offers in Cheyenne once in awhile, such as the specially priced weather alerter and Rockies ticket discounts.
