Bumbling, inept, unprofessional clowns
I signed up with PLC (their University City office) in late December 2009 to have a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy done. I paid $490.00 up-front. On December 27, I sent the firm a Discharge of Duties letter via USPS Return Receipt mail. I could not afford their fees and was terminating our business contract.. I received the return receipt on December 30. I was subsequently told no more funds ( I was on a $250.00 per month payment plan) would be taken from my account. On January 25th, PLC put through an electronic debit for $250.00 on my account. Illegal. They stopped the payment but it tied those funds up for a week. I have called and left messages regarding the disposition of the $490.00 I paid upfront, and have received different stories each time I call. It is now February 10, still no resolution. I await to see if they will try and suck another $250.00 from my account on February 25th. Obviously one area of the firm is in the dark as to what another area is doing. How can a law firm take funds from a personal account after they have been discharged? I f your PLC that is easy, apparently they hold themselves up as above the law. This has been a horrible experience for me, I certainly would advise anyone from using this firm. Their fees are excessive, they use high-pressure to sign you up, and then fail to take care of business.
