Always open, always pancakes. Kerbey Lane Cafe is the place to get breakfast after partying all night in Austin. You see some interesting people there at 4 a.m. They come to be restored by the flapjacks. These pancakes will make your eyes clear and your brain restart. They have bagged the dry mix and sell it. However, part of the restorative properties of the all night Kerbey Lane breakfast is to eat with other revelers who may have been at other parties that you missed.
During the day Kerbey Lane cafe has an altogether different feel. The Lane has some nice stores and is frequented by shoppers of the upscale specialty shops in the area who drop in to Kerbey Lane for the soups, salads, sandwiches, and hot lunches. For example, try the stuffed poblano pepper with seasonal (home grown) squash and Feta cheese, topped with a verde sauce. It comes with black beans, cheese-filled corn cakes and an avocado salad.
Pros : They grow a lot of their own veggies for fresh healthy ingredients. Good food for good prices.
Cons : Often too crowded for Sunday brunch.
Price Range : $10 - $25
