I have had two kids go through Kensington and have been a Kensington parent for four years. Needless to say, I have a lot of experience with this school.
Like any school, you will find teachers that you love and ones that you don't, but I really believe their curriculum is fantastic. My kids were always excited to go to school every day! The kids have spanish, learn about master painters and even built a skeleton! I don't know any other preschools that can compete with that!
That said, their enrollment process is horrid! Existing parents begin standing in line at 3:30 IN THE MORNING! Ridiculous! After being at this school for four years, we did not get in this year because we weren't able to get up that early. (My husband works in the city and I have other kids to consider.)
Also, I had heard a lot of complaints about the director of the Naperville campus and this year was the first time I really had to deal with her. I will say, I completely understand all of the complaints. I quite honestly think she is incompetent and worthless. (Not because she didn't help us, but because she LIED to us!) She offers a lot of "I knows" but very little action. I think she is a glorified secretary.
All of that said, I think it is a great school. My daughter is going into her last year of preschool and we have to switch schools this year and it is breaking my heart. If you are considering Kensington, I would suggest you be prepared for the enrollment process and do your best to use someone other than the director if you need.
