LOVE IT! Make reservations
Kanki is a favorite of my family. We do mostly go on special occations. We also go with friends. It is more fun and when they are busy the service is better and food is always great! love it!! I usually make reservations and go to the one in Raleigh on Glenwood! Going tonight!

Best in the triangle period!!!
Ultimately the best sushi in the triangle!! what sets them apart is the highest quality fish with no exceptions. The other places order secondary fish or say scraps at low cost because they pay their sushi chefs so much $$$$. Atmosphere is great. a bit crowded due to the mall traffic. And I hate going to the mall. Overall, excellent fish selection. If they offered an authentic menu Kanki would just be the best Japanese Restaurant in the Triangle. Also, try the Hibachi side!!!!! Ask for Phu!!! he ULTIMATELY the Best CHEF I have ever had for teppanyake in the nation......and i have been to at least 2 dozen teppan restaurants... He is ultimately the funniest, entertaining chef!!!!!

Good??!!!?? What is so good?
First of all...I'm writing the review on sushi....but the teppanyaki?...it's THE worst tasting I've had in country. But I soon found out that all teppan place in the triangle are the worst tasting i've had in country. So if you crave teppanyaki food...go ahead...because you have no choice.

Now for the sushi...I'm a fair judge on sushi...so I'll start by saying that some on their rolls are pretty good...some are not. I'm a nigiri sushi and sashimi eater. I enjoy rolls on occasion. With that said...I think the sushi and sashimi is probably one of the worst in town. They have descent rolls...but not the fish.. and the bad and long service didn't help much either. I would recommend this place for few of the good rolls they have...but definitely not for sushi or sashimi. I'm surprised I didn't get sick. I think there are plenty of other good sushi joints in town such as Waraji, Mura, Hayashi, etc.

Pros: Convenience...inside a popular mall, few good sushi rolls.

WAIT! WAIT! YOU HAVE TO WAIT!
First of all, I must agree that the service is awful. The waitresses are not friendly and they act as if you are a nuissance. Second, we waited for over 45 minutes after we ordered our food for the chef to come over to our table to prepare the hibachi. Also, I went there with some people that wanted hibachi, but I wanted sushi. When the waitress finally took our order, I was informed that sushi would take over an hour to prepare and I should order something else. It was a Wednesday night and they were not even that crowded! I wish someone would have told me BEFORE we were seated or right when we were seated. We would have gone elsewhere! Oh and my friends chicken was so tough it was not edible. Big flop of a meal!
