great Food - excellent waitstaff
I visited Kally K's yesterday (8-19-09) around 1:00. I was there with a group of friends for lunch.
We were greeted by a female hostess, that was doing cross-word puzzels at the podium. With no smile or greeting of any kind, she asked "how many?" in a monotone. I said 6, and she led us to the table. The waitress was excellent, and the food was wonderful.
We went to the salad bar (it was 1:30) the Greek Salad container had only 4 pieces of tomatoes, the hard boiled egg container, "empty", the Beet container "empty", and the hostess was seating another couple next to the salad Bar, and I asked her if there was anyone replentishing these items. She said "yea" probrally there bringing more out soon...also, both soup containers were empty.
You can really tell when Alex (the owner) is not on the site. He own's a very high standard restaurant, and often goes from table to table asking customers how their meal was, etc.
When we were leaving, I asked the hostess who was still working the cross-word puzzel book at the podium, if Alex was here? With not even a glance up , she just said "nope". There was no: "Thank's for coming", "Have a nice afternoon", "Good Bye", nothing at all.
There were 6 of us, and our bill was around $85.00 with coctails. If I was Alex, I would certainly get rid of that hostess, and employ someone who show's appreciation to the guests.
