We hire Just Fencen' after he was recommended by Maner Fence Company of Charleston, SC to install 330 linear feet of aluminum fencing with three gates. And also he claimed to know my neighbor and they attended church together. My neighbor said he came and gave them an estimate for a fence, they didn't know him, nor did they hire him.

Anyway we hired, not knowing this. We gave the owner of Just Fencen' 65% up front. We thought it was steep, but we okayed to it. We thought 50% should have been more than adaquate.

They installed an estimated 200 feet with two gates. Terrible workmanship. Screws not even attaching the panels to the post. The screws just filled the hole on the posts, missing the panels metal completely. Some panels just left hanging at the bottom bracket because of the degree at the corners. They should have used hinges to make the degree. After pointing this out, they installed the hinges on the one corner

The gate wasn't hanging level. Posts were off by 1 inch total. They should have installed a wall post that attaches to the house with brackets instead they dug up our drain tile now it doesn't pass water through it. The other panels barely hanging on by a thread of metal to the posts.

After they completed the 200 lineat feet we pointed out the shoddy workmanship. The owner screamed he was a God fearing Christian and wouldn't fix the errors. After arguing with him for a half hour on our property. After his insults he agreed to do repair but would not guarantee his work. He actually said, ..Once I am done I don't want to hear anything more about this fence. He went on how he was losing money. Suggested we give him what we feel he deserves. We said we agreed on a set price, and it wasn't about the money. We just wanted the work repaired. Needless to say..we fired him.

Why he wanted 65% upfront? He knew what he was doing, got all of his money w/ a nice profit in his deposit, he could careless if we fired him. We priced the materials he purchased from Maner at his cost . One gate was $178.00 he charged us $450 plus an addit'l 4 ft @ $25.00 ft, total $550.00 at 65% deposit. Profit before job completion $189.50 after $382. We're not complaining about his profit or the estimate. We agreed regardless of the cost. We are showing his dishonesty, lack of integrity as a fence contractor and his workmanship is shoddy at best. Already one gate he installed is falling apart. The 3 screws broke off the bottom hinge, just hangs by the top hinge. Now we have to repaired a $550.00 gate. The gate was used twiced and had been installed only 6 weeks ago.
