Take a ride down the river by Fred P. at InsiderPages
The Jungle Queen Riverboat is a long standing tourist MUST SEE when in Fort Lauderdale.
You board on A1A at the Marina. The Jungle Queen
is a two story boat with aisle seating. The Jungle Queen
goes down the Intercoastal Waterway to the end where
an all you can eat dinner awaits.
On the trip down the Intercoastal, your captain will point out interesting landmarks such as the multi-million dollar homes belonging to celebs and other big-wigs. Your ride down the Intercoastal begins in the daylight so it's easy to see everything and enjoy the beautiful waters. You will see yachts as well as smaller boats in the water. The trip back is in the later evening and you can see the lights of the homes on the water. I truly enjoy the return trip more than the going!
Usually there is a sing-a-long on the trip back. Corny, but fun.
It is also a time to rest after stuffing yourself at the all-you-can-eat feast. The food, chicken and ribs, is flavorful but the dessets are less than satisfying, especially to my sweet tooth. But, you will NOT leave hungry. Also, there is a show
before the dinner. A bit corny, too, but fun.
I enjoy the Jungle Queen but would not make it an everyday outing. It's great for visitors and first timers.
PROS: Fun for first time visitors
