Jumonville's bakery
About the past reviews on Jumonville's......

Everyone has they're own opinions and bad experiences. But I have been frequenting Jumonville's since I was a very young child, and am now 20 and still go there. Personally, I haven't had any bad experiences or seen any 'blatant disregard" for customers feelings. The owners can no more be responsible for words coming out of the mouths of their employees than you can be fore your neighbor saying things. It isn't right to blame one person for another's mistake. I, personally, have enjoyed the service I receive at Jumonville's and like everyone else, that is my opinion. Jumonville's has superb pastries and doughnuts, not to mention the King Cakes. They're amazing. once again, my opinion. So, don't let one bad experience ruin the chance to try new and exciting foods at Jumonvilles, as they always come out with something new and totally different things than u would find at other bakeries. I know this because I know the Head cake Decorator that works there, personally. She is one of the best. One of the most caring and professional people I know. She loves what she does, and is quite proud of her work. I know that she will go out of her way to do exactly as the customer wants. She goes above and Beyond on all of her work. I know this because she designed and decorated my wedding cake. it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. It got major reviews in Plaucheville, louisiana. So if you're letting one bad experience due to one irresponsible person, ruin your chance to try the sweets at jumonvilles, then that is YOUR loss.

THAT IS NO APOLOGY...
IN THIS APOLOG WHY IS OBAMA IN SMALL LETTERS?

Our Apologies from Jumonville's Bakery 11/13/2008 Posted by Maria304

I would like to comment on the lady who had a bad experience in the bakery, concerning the obama cake.
1st I apologize to you & your family, there is no excuse for racism to exsist today, whether it does or doesn't somtimes things are said out of disregard for the next person or persons, We all make mistakes & I really wish, that with time, you will reconsider & try a little forgiveness. I make no excuses for anyone & I know from my own experience in life, WE CANNOT FORGET, UNTIL WE FORGIVE!!!! I do know the lady that made this mistake & she has been repremanded & would like to apologize to you, if you would be willing to except her apologizies ,also the owner would like to treat you & your family that was there for the not so joyful expierence to a sweet treat. What ever decision you & your family make on excepting our apologizies,we're sincerely sorry for any hurt we have inflicted on you & your family!!! Also our business is to serve only good intentions, sometimes we may miss it, hopefully we can do better next time!!

Disgraceful, Hatred Bakery
I am a married, mother of 2, who always pays her bills, employed worker who has been with the same company for over 9 years, and, yes, a taxpayer. However, I am in shock with the level of racism that still resides in our great state of Louisiana. I stopped by Jumonville's Bakery. After entering the establishment with my two kids & mother in tow, another patron entered the bakery to pick up her order-a cake laced with the word "Obama" on it. An eldery, black couple was also there & when they heard there was an Obama cake, they were excited, wanted to view it. The lady at the counter said it was just his name on the cake. After the two other patrons left, me & my family were still there. I guess they assumed that we all were together. So, we were just waiting and looking over all of the items in the case. When the lady who gave the cake to the patron that ordered it came back, she told another lady at the counter that the lady she had given it to said, "We'll get there soon." To that, she replied, her eyes rolled back. She also said, "Where's the McCain cake?" To which the other lady said, "Waiting to be ordered, I guess." And, this takes the cake (pardon my pun), the lady that served the cake to the patron replied, "Obama-I should've put a bomb in it; Obama-Bin Laden, they're all in the same group." All of this exchange going on in front of me-in front of my two little kids who just wanted to get a doughnut. I am outraged and disheartened as I write this. I have never experienced racism before, but it hurts more because I was a patron. Everyone is entitled to their views and opinions. This should not be expressed in the presence of your customers or children. Jumonville's will not have the pleasure of getting my hard earned money anymore because the blatant racism that was present in the store 20 minutes ago was enough for me to patronize another establishment who will keep their views and opinions to themselves.

Jumonvilles Bakery in Gonzalez
I am new to the Gonzalez area and was looking for a bakery to purchase a birthday cake for my son. Found Jumonville's Bakery in Gonzalez and thought that I had found a very reliable bakery. To my surprise, was I WRONG!!!! I picked up the cake on Saturday morning, along with some other items for my sons birthday party, as I bragged on the cake to friends and family, about the cake that was supposed to be filled with fresh strawberries and cream cheese. BOY WAS I DISAPPOINTED. My face dropped as I cut the cake only to find strawberry jelly . Upon calling the establishment on Monday, I was told that somebody would get back in touch with me. By Wednesday no one called back , so I called again only to have my number screened. I used a co-workers cell phone and they finally answered. I was told that my order was fixed the way it was written and I could get a $10 store credit on a $45 cake. WOWWW Thanks so much for your screw up. Due to the incompetency and obviously challenged worker who could not write an order properly, my son's 10th birthday was a few berries short. So when looking for that special cake, pass by this bakery.
