I was a dancer at Joys for 15 years after leaving my old studio because they were to into body type and singling out girls for competition. At every studio i have been at Joys puts the emphasis on FUN and LOVE of dance not you must be a certain body type or push you to be something your not. The staff LOVES dance and it shows by how many hours they put into each class outside of class which is something that not alot of people realize. Having the studio focus on the final performance in June and the options of doing Dynamics (their dance team) or Nutcracker in December gives the kids who want to learn more or not options. Nutcracker is something that is VERY different than other studios because if you try out you get a part.. no matter how well or not you do.. as long as you try you will be rewarded! (gives so much confidence to those who would not even have a part at other studios)..Also the chance to go overseas every other year gave me the oportunity to go to Germany, Italy, England, and the Caribean which i could not tell you of another studio that even gives that option (minus the caribean). All in all you must know this studio puts a stress on LOVE no matter who you are you can learn to love dance! I truely recommend this studio.. but if you are just looking for another studio who pushes kids into competitions, has the same ones in front for every dance because they want to look better, or teaches kids that dancing is a chore and not something fun.. then this studio is not for you! I hope you check this dance studio out because you want to instill the love of dance in your children because that is their goal as well!

Joy of Dance offers a program with the premise that every dancer is beautiful and all have the opportunity to shine. Focus is on building beauty, grace, skills, stage presence, confidence and the pure joy of dancing. Not everyone who dances will head off to Broadway, but everyone can learn how to dance and how to dance with poise and style. That is what Joy of Dancing offers. As the mother of two daughters who spent a combined 29 years with the studio, I can say it is well worth the investment and time.

Remember Nigel on SYTYCD - He said so many studios are a waste of $$ and this is no exception. The focus is on the end of year programs. The dancers don't learn basic steps or technique. They focus on choreography but neglect technique. Parent who aren't trained as dancers or went through Joy's programs have been so mislead.

The majority of the instructors that I've seen or heard about are wonderful here. Things have improved a lot since this studio began and there was some good growth. Class sizes are optimal, not too big nor too small. The yearly recitals are the highlights of the students lessons, especially the younger ones. I believe the tuition is paid monthly and is around 45 dollars or so for one class twice a week.
