Fair at best, with a little attitude
We arrived on a Sunday morning around 11:30 for a late breakfast (they don?t serve lunch on Sunday). There was a lot of confusion at the hostess stand if there was actually a table available. Turns out there was going to be a wait, but the catch is?.there were several open tables. We waited. However, a local couple arrives, speaks to the owner and is promptly seated ahead of everyone else that is waiting. Seems if you are one of the local aristocrat regulars the owner of Joseph?s will seat you right away, the rest the tourist and paying customers that keep her afloat shall wait! As it turns out, the kitchen was way behind, so the average Joe waited. The breakfast was acceptable. Nothing to write home about, and in a town like Charleston you can do better. There is a wonderful bed and breakfast just around the corner that has a very nice brunch. It will be more expensive but a much more pleasant experience. Joseph?s was not terrible, and they did have two gentlemen playing music that was relaxing and enjoyable. Joseph?s It is fine if you can?t find anything else, but in Charleston, I assure you?.you can find something else.
