Jo Ann Fabric - La Mesa, CA
I am a crafter and always on the hunt for supplies and unique items at reasonable prices. Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Store is on the top of my list of places to shop. I especially like the Fletcher Parkway - La Mesa Store because of it's cleanliness, friendly service, and, variety.

Whenever I shop here, I plan on spending at least two to three hours in the store. For a sewing project, there is a whole corner of the store dedicated to fabric, patterns, and notions. The selection is greater than I have seen in other stores and the sales assistants are very knowlegable and offer lots of good ideas when I am stuck or indecisive.

The bead and jewelry making area is huge. The store carries a great selection of beads, findings, stringing materials, kits, storage containers, and pattern books. I always find new items and the prices are very competitive with other craft & bead stores.

My husband likes to build model cars and he finds all the kits, sanding papers, paints, and glue supplies he needs in one convenient area. He also likes the woodworking selection they have for the small, around-the-house projects.

Although this store did not carry doll joints the last time I was there, they are still my favorite crafting store with the widest variety of items. If they don't carry an item, the sales associates will try to help you find another store that does. To me, that is good customer service! I definitely recommend this store!

Get Crafty!
I enjoy scrapbooking and sewing so Jo-Ann's is one of my regular hang outs. This Jo-Ann's has a lot of material for a variety of sewing projects as well as a large scrabooking area. In fact, this is one of the largest Jo-Anns I've been to in San Diego. They keep their store very well maintained. Also, in case you didn't know already, you can use Michael's coupons on your purchases (not material though). They also just started giving educator's discounts. I would recommend going to this Jo-Ann's next time you're in need of some good crafting ideas, it's much less chaotic than other craft stores.
