Once again, I was in the dental office of Dr. Jerry Massimei for my annual check up. As of September 30, 2007 It will be 8 years that I have been a very happy patient of Dr. Gerald Massimei, DDS in Chula Vista. He has worked miracles for me. When I first came to him with my unbelievable mouth he and his well educated staff and team members made me feel very comfortable. Through Dr. Massimei's professional care, knowledge, expertise and talent, I was able to regain my confidence in smiling again. Dr. Massimei's specific concern and care about my dental challenges gave me the confidence to smile again and to be able to look people in the face and not hold my head down in shame because of the way my mouth looked. Even when I would laugh, I'd cover my mouth with my hand because I didn't want people to see my missing teeth and the teeth I did have I didn't want anybody to see how crooked they were. I love his whole staff from the front office desk to the dental assistants. Everyone has such a pleasant personality and it's been the most wonderful dental experience I've had. If you are in need of a dentist, Dr. Gerald Massimei is the person you are looking for.

My experience with Dr. Massimei was great overall even though I got some bad news personally. - My first cavity :( I arrived at the his office, was greeted by very friendly staff and after filling out new patient paperwork they got me started almost immediately. With Dr. Massimei there was no wait at all! And even if there were outside of the standard magazines most dentist offices have they had a big screen TV in the waiting room with DVD choices to peruse. That's something I can get with.
Once seated in my dental chair and the doctor briefed me on the procedures I was to receive. My x-rays were taken and then began the cleaning. Here is where I distinguish one dentist from another. The hygienist! Many hygienists are rough with the dental instruments and they seem to love JAMMING dental floss into your gums at the end using WAY to much pressure causing pain and bleeding. Then they all seem to tell you "you should floss more, you shouldn't be bleeding like this." Really? I floss regularly maybe you're tearing my mouth up? Well, Dr. Massimei's hygienist gave me the most comfortable cleaning I have ever received. No pain, nor violent flossing whatsoever. She also didn't talk to me the whole time either like other hygienists do forcing you to communicate with fingers and instruments crammed in your mouth.
From there Dr. Massimei came over, inspected and fine tuned the hygienist's work then gave me the bad news. At 30 years old I got my first cavity, and it's a doozy. I am in need of a root canal! Scared out of my mind he explained it's very normal and that he would get my mouth healthy again. He showed me an educational video and explained the needed procedure. I really appreciated this comforting explanation.
Once my choppers were cleaned and polished came the ZOOM 2 Whitening! This was my first time and the results were beyond my expectations. They immobilize you, use a instrument to pull back your lips, apply a gum protectant, a bleaching agent to the teeth then finally they bring over a laser light looking device. It produces special UV rays that speed up the bleaching process and it looks very space age. 3 sessions at 15 minutes and I was looking pearly white! *I also managed to catch an episode of Jerry Springer on TV while my teeth were whitened. The TV show made me giggle and I went from yellow to white in less than an hour. See the picture I included.
In closing it was a great experience and I'd recommend Dr. Massimei and his staff to anyone!

I highly recommend Dr. Massimei and his staff for dental services. They do everything possible to make the visits comfortable, and as pain free and efficient as possible. Two years ago, our teenage daughter, was miserable, embarrassed, and hid her smile, because a previous dentist had pulled too many teeth to make room in her mouth. We moved back to Chula Vista and needed to find a reputable dentist to correct the deficiencies caused by the previous dentist's poor decisions. Dr. Massimei was recommended by a friend, and he evaluated my daughter (and her frantic parents ), and provided immediate relief and a great dental plan. His extensive knowledge and dedication to his profession offered our daughter a beautiful smile and our family superb dental care! We appreciate Dr. Massimei's faith, service, and professionalism.

The office of Gerald Massimei is gorgeous and exceptionally clean. The bathroom is my twins favorite, with toothbrushes, mouthwash and other little goodies like lotion for your hands.
Dr. Massimei works very will with children and adults alike. I am always afforded the opportunity to learn about the latest technology and procedures available in order to make educated and informed decisions about the dental health of my family.
My children are not afraid of the doctor and love his assistants. The front office staff is very accomodating regarding appointments and insurance billing.
Pros: MINIMAL WAITING TIME and a very clean & comfortable office!
Cons: Who likes undergoing any dental procedures??? Certainly not me!!!
Dr. Massimei is highly experienced, educated and keeps himself and his office well informed on the latest techniques and dental practices. He is thorough, caring, a stellar teacher and thoughtful dentist.
His office and staff are professional, friendly, and available to help meet the needs of their clients. He teaches and encourages good dental hygiene as a means of health and wholeness within his customers.

Employees are really friendly and nice.. Im not affraid to go to the dentist when I know I have to..because they're really carefull and do a GREAT job.
Bueno se que ya lo escribi en ingles pero para las personas que hablan espanol esto es para ustedes .. la verdad que el Dr. Massimei hace un trabajo excelente encuanto viene a precios y calidad no dudaria en recomendarlo como su doctor ..hace un trabajo con LUMINEERS que me lo hizo a mi y mis dientes quedaron hermosos ni parece que no son mios.. bueno si no tienen doctor o estan pensando en cambiar de doctor yo les recomiendo que se cambien con el..
