Thomas Luke is great! I love his personality, and he knows what he is doing He is worth any price.

When a woman decides to do something with her hair, it is usually with a very clear vision in mind. The color, the cut, the highlights.. Pictures are cut out sometimes to ensure complete understanding by her hairdresser. When the initial conversation is over and you have stated your desires and the hairdresser has nodded in agreement 90% of the time.. you think.. "Ok, I think we got this down, so just make me pretty." And then you relax in their comfy chairs and enjoy a great head massage.. Color is slapped on.. You have so many foils and plastic in your head, you are ready for reception from outer space... Almost 45 min later.. and after careful peaking under the foils by the experienced stylist, you are ready to see yourself in the color you wanted..
Well, in my case NOT EXACTLY... There was obviously a lot of nodding and very little hearing while I was explaining my desires over and over.
Not only that, but my color turned EXACTLY the opposite of what I had asked for!
How do you do that? How do you add "copper" and "auburn" streaks when the request was for "sand" and "wheat" color.. and NO STREAKS, but fine highlights.. how do you hear gold blonde, when the request was specifically "NO GOLD, NO RED, NO WARM!!!"
The hairdresser, all flustered, called the owner to discuss options. They offered me to go back and fix it.. or to fix it right away! Who in their right mind would want to subject their hair to so much trauma within an hour - more peroxide, more hairdryers, more product! That alone should tell you that they have NO clue on what good hair-care is


Oh, on top of all, they still charged me.. "we need to charge you for product" the owner said..

It's not over.
I was supposed to get this really "edgy" haircut... All i got was a blunt cut... which took 3 minutes. And she said "we are ready.."

and to top it off - she burned the front of my hair with with the flatiron or the hairdryer or something.. Even now, almost 10 hours later my bangs smell like burnt rubber!

So PLEASE don't ever go there, recommend to anyone, or experiment with your hair in that place.. Unless of course you want to, and you want to get red streaks from the late 80's .. then yes, that place is for you.. otherwise, I'd stay far and away..

As for me, I am going back to my trusted girls at Salon 11 Studios in Dunwoody, who know exactly how to listen to their customers.. I guess that's what I deserve for "cheating" on my colorist! And now I'm caught "red-headed!"

No offense redheads - I love that color on you - it's not for me!!!

I recommend the facilities at Jamison Shaw if you are looking for some pampering. They have a nice space right in Buckhead and staff the knows how to take care of all of your needs. a fun experience.

If I could give this place a minus 100, I would. Giving it a 1 star is too much. The owner, Candy, is a know it all and makes you feel like you know absolutely nothing about your own hair. She treats no one with respect -- not the clients who are paying money - hello - nor her employees. Pampered? Hell no! Told what to do? Yes, and if you disagree, you're an idiot. They know everything, and you know nothing. They truly do not listen to what you have to say and what you want. They do what they want and then tell you you look great. No one can wipe their behind without making sure that's what Candy told them to do. FYI, they also truly do not know how to color hair. I made the mistake of giving them two chances to get it right -- and what's their answer -- it's a process, we can't get it that color the first time around. What a bunch of horse manure. They never own up to their mistakes and failures. Definitely not a pleasurable experience. I've had much better service at Bob Steele which has continually given me great haircuts.

I went to this salon having been cancelled on at the last minute at my normal salon... When you enter the receptionist is very friendly and attentive. That is where the "good" part of the salon stops. Let me start of by saying that when I entered the salon I had black hair (colored of course) and I knew that it would probably be pretty difficult to lift this color, but I figured, hey, this is their profession, they couldn't possibly mess it up! ... Well, I was wrong. My stylist did a conditioning bleach treatment to my hair, I have heard of this before and thought that it would be a good idea... except that she also bleached my re-growth as well. This process left my re-growth an orange color and the rest of my hair looking green. I knew that this was not the end of my session, so I decided to trust her to see what she'd do next. She then picked a color for me, I liked it. She applied the color. My roots ended up being A LOT lighter than the rest of my hair (do to the bleach), she applied a darker color to the roots.... still too light... and then another. It was never dark enough. I had also said that I'd like to have highlights added to my hair. She refused to do it and even asked another stylist to come over to try and make me feel bad about asking for them. Mind you... I have very strong hair and take good care of it and I know what my hair can take and what it can't. I ended up leaving p***ed off after paying $145 and 4 hours of being patronized for my hair to look like S***. I will never go back to this salon again. I felt as if she ignored my requests and was not trained in the technique that she was trying to perform. I highly suggest going elsewhere!
