I was referred to Jimmy at J Gordon by an aquaintance of mine whose hair is allways beautiful whenever I see her. She allways raves about her stylist "Jimmy Hong" So I decided to book an appointment for a cut and highlights. When I arrived the salon was busy. Jimmy greeted me and then really took the time to listen and consult with me about what I wanted. What I got was the best cut of my life! It was not only chic but my hair seemed to almost fall into place even after I shook it! I am also very happy with the highlights he gave me ( he added more around my face to "frame it and add brightness" he said, and it really did. ) I highly reccomend him and I will definitely go back!

What an outstanding experience I had in J. Gordon Salon. This place is warm, cozy, and very relaxing. It is filled with antique pictures, furniture, a lots of beautiful things. Everyone was very friendly.
On November 2006, I booked an appointment with Mina, not knowing what to expect. Mina gives you ideas what you could do with your hair. Mina is very skilled, sooooo friendly; I had the best haircut and best color ever-exactly what I wanted. Now, I always come back...

I just moved to Chicago and was looking for a new stylist. Based on their great online reviews, I made an appointment at J. Gordon for a cut and style, and it was fantastic. Really, really, nice people. A really cute environment (lots of antiques and art). The shampoo was great . Many thanks to everyone for making me feel so comfortable on my first visit to a new salon. I love my hair and will defintiely be back.

What a wonderful experience I had last night being a first time client at J. Gordon! Having gone to the same salon now for a couple of years, I was nervous to make the change. After arriving at J Gordon, I immediately felt at ease and comfortable. From the time I walked in the salon to the time I left, everyone was very friendly and down to earth. I went in for a haircut (wanting suggestions for a change) and highlights. Mina (senior stylist & colorist who was extremely friendly) consulted me and offered a nice idea/change for my hairstyle which is what I wanted! Seems hard to find, for me anyways! The cut and highlights turned out great and I am very pleased. I was also surprised & very pleased when Nora washed my hair and also gave me a relaxing neck & shoulder massage as well! Wow! Walked into work this morning and received some nice compliments! I definitely plan on going back to Mina at J Gordon!

Its hard for me to go to another stylist, but seeing as mine is in California, I had to make the plunge. I chose J. Gordon because it is next door to my house, but I later discovered that they have a great reputation here in Chicago (Oprah even loves them). The place is small, but quaint, with Parisian decor and old fashioned stations that make you feel like you're in your grandfather's barber shop. The staff is great though... the receptionist very warm and friendly, the hair washer gives you a neck massage and the stylist could probably do anything you ask for. My appointment was with Jenna and I left satisfied.
