Very nice, classy bar in downtown San Diego. The bar itself is really big. There's a pool, cabanas and lots of seating. It's on the roof with cool views of San Diego. The MojoPages party was the first time I've been there. I liked it a lot although drinks were a big pricey the appetizers were delicious. Great for a girls night out.
Overall: J Bar is located on the rooftop of Hotel Solamar downtown. It's a really neat bar...
It's on the rooftop so it overlooks the lights of the city and there's a pool which adds a cool vibe. They have cabanas that offer bottle service and one main bar for the rest of us.
Value: The drinks are on the pricey side, but it's downtown.
Service: I went on a Saturday night when ASR was in town and it wasn't that crowded so there wasn't a huge wait at the bar or anything.
Quality: The place is really nice and has a chill but classy feel. Unfortunately, the bathrooms are gross - like poolside bathrooms, which is weird because I was there at night and no one was swimming...?
Pros : Cool venue, chill crowd where you can talk to your friends!
Cons : Gross bathrooms, downtown parking.

If you can't get to the beach, enjoy San Diego summer happy hours at this place! Drinks are expensive, but you get what you pay for and nothing is short poured. Its outside, atop near the pool, looking out into areas of downtown and near the ballpark. Get there early to get a table, as the line to get in the elevator backs up pretty quick after 9pm.
Pros : Very professional and polite staff. Potential for someone to fall in the pool.
Cons : Closes around 12:30
