Island Alterations quoted my son $54.00 to alter his suit. He later was told it would be $94.00 if he wanted the suit back. Pauline said she quoted $54.00 just for the "tapers." My son doesn't know what tapers are, why would he ask for a price for the tapers?????????? She was rude to me and misled my son. We all work hard for our money, Robbie doesn't have $94.00 to get a suit altered and never would have agreed to pay that. We were ripped off.

I called Island Alterations and spoke with Alvin about having my wedding dress altered. He said that he and his wife would have to see the dress before an estimate of how much the work would cost could be given. Pauline told me I had to try my dress on before an estimate could be given. She pinned the dress and then said that a price cannot be estimated for a wedding gown. After asking for a business card, Alvin and Pauline both began criticizing me for not wanting to leave my dress for them to do that day. They spoke rudely to me and tried to charge me a "pinning" fee for Pauline pinning my dress. A pinning fee was never mentioned to me in the first place. Upon leaving, I was told to never come back and they hope my dress turned out as bad as the first dress I bought. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They were rude and brash and made my experience absolutely miserable.‎
