It is a great time at Iceoplex Escondido. It can get very pricey, especially if you have little kids that need help.

They have comfortable skates, and "walkers" to rent. Unfortunately it all adds up. When I take my two four year old boys, with entrance, skate rental, and easy skater rentals we pay almost $40.

I do like that they are open early, but don't expect a lot of help weekday mornings. There is usually only one person working the ice, which means he/she runs the zamboni, the ticket booth, and the skate rental booth.

My kids however, have had so much fun skating, that we will find ways to keep coming back.

I've played in a few hockey tournaments here and have to say that it's some of the better ice in San DIego. Certainly better than Mira Mesa or UTC where some days you need a pair of floaties instead of ice skates to make it around the rink.

We had our party scheduled for 3:00 with ice skating starting at 1:30. Upon arrival we were given our birthday passes and sent to the ice. No party room until 3:00. Ok, were does everyone meet and put the gifts? We moved passed that hurdle and proceeded to skate with 8, 5 year olds. We were promised 5 EZ gliders and when we asked for them the response was "they are all broken from the teenagers using them the night before". The staff was not very polite, not accommodating, and acted as if our presence was a nuisance. The 15 minute skate lesson was nice. The teacher was pleasant and welcoming. The party hostess was very nice, pleasant, and apologetic for all the confusion upon arrival. The party favors are just bags half full of candy. Most of it hard candy. For 5 year olds?? We will probably skate here but no more birthday parties unless the process changes.‎

I really like that the rinks are separated into figure and hockey. Nice size rink, pro shop and food available. Good rates on rentals and admission. Great family fun. ...

great place for kids to keep busy in escondido. it never gets that crowded and its a big place. they also have a little ceasars and snacks for kids!!! ...
