Pro:
I do have excellent vision in the daytime due to the custom wavefront lasik from Dr. Hyver.
Cons:
I have HORRIBLE night vision now, and NO ONE at Dr. Hyvers explained how this could be a possible effect of the surgery.
NO ONE explained what would happen during the procedure, and I have heard of patients at other offices watching videos explaining this, and being offered calming pre-op drugs. This would have helped greatly.
On surgery day I felt like I was a part in an assembly line. I didn't even see Dr. Hyver. He showed up when I was under the laser, and disappeared before I ever saw him.
After surgery I went into the office to explain my side effects, and they told me it was MY FAULT! Can you believe that? It makes me sick.

I was 5 diopters in both eyes before LASIK and now am pretty much 20/20. While it cannot improve prespiopa (far sightedness as you age), I can see without glasses for much of the day. I had the monvision adjustment done so that I can continue to use my computer without corrective lenses, but have recently noticed more need for reading glasses--a fact of aging. Don't wait till you need reading glasses to have this surgery--it makes a world of difference for near sighted people.

I was considered legally blind without my classes and due to the size of my pupils was not a good candidate for LASIK surgery. With the newer technology of Wavefront surgery, not only was I able to get 20/20 vision without my contacts or glasses but I also eliminated any night halos that I had been seeing with my contacts. The entire staff at the offices of Dr. Hyver are fantastic. There is not one time that I was in the office, that I did not feel as though I was the most important patient to them. I have recommended Dr. Hyver to anyone that asks about LASIK!

I went to Scott Hyver because six of my coworkers also chose him and their surguries went well. You get to meet and speak with the surgon and after that you have a personal eye doctor who guides you through the rest of the process. The whole process was great and the results were perfect. I highly recommend this office and staff.
