I went to both the Hydro-Scape in Chula Vista and El Cajon and found the guys there courteous, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I needed some product information about water conserving items and they were extremely up to speed on the local water guidelines and available products that may serve my need.
I went to their Chula Vista store today. As always, the workers were conducting business in Spanish. The store was void of customers. A more senoir looking guy was on the phone explaining to someone (in Spanish) how to get to the store, occasionally talking to a young guy (in Spanish) who was standing behind the counter. I looked around and did not find what I was looking for on the shelves. I stepped to the counter, upon which the young guy simply walked away and ambled to the entrance door pretending to be looking for something. Then he walked back an I was expecting to turn to me but all he did was pick up some papers, shuffled them then walked to the back of the store. Not a "I'll be with you in a moment" or something like that. He than reappeared from the back of the store and without looking at me walked to the side and started packing something. I'm still standing there, holding my laughably named "Preferred Cach Customer" card in my hands. The other guy is still on the phone. I am the only customer in the store. The guy on the phone finally motions to the young guy who ignores him and continues to wrap something at the side of the room. Finally I turn around and leave. As I am ready to start my car I see the young guy waving from the door and yelling something. I managed to keep my finger inside the car.
