I first dealt with Houston's last year when I purchased a very expensive set of diamond earrings. I was decently pleased although they seemed a little high on price for what I was getting, but I was satisfied. A few months ago I decided to start ring shopping. I had already been pricing some loose diamonds at other jewelers so I had a decent idea of prices and what I was looking for. When Houston's quoted me more than double the price for very similar stones I called their bluff. Man oh man I have never seen anyone get so mad or upset over prices in my life. I felt like I was dealing with some car dealer that was trying to take advantage of an older lady and just got caught. They had no explanation of the price difference except that their stones were better but they couldn't show me how. They were so mad they even refused to build my custom designed band. FYI this was the owner Steve Houston. I buy a lot of jewelery through the year and I wouldn't recommend these folks ...

We shopped all over Bakersfield for our engagement and wedding rings. Our search was over when we got to Houston Jewelers. They have incredible rings and loose diamonds selections and terrific prices too. We purchased an Elma Gil bridal set and could not be happier. Unlike the mall stores, they are not pushy and very accommodating.
My fiance is now showing off her ring to everyone.

I agree, This is the best Jewelery store ever!! So nice, staff rocks, and the most important thing..The staff are not pushy with there sales...lol :) there so sweet and help alot! :D

This is a jewerly store that I see advertised all the time. I decided to go in and check it out and I have to say I was impressed with their selection. I did not buy anything because I do find better prices over the internet but it's definatly a worthy jewelry store.
