After the storm I had damaged blinds and needed some new ones also. Houston blind picked up the damaged blinds and brought samples of the new ones to my home. I expected delays due to power outages and the general shape Houston was still in. Much to my surprise the new blinds and repaired blinds were ready for install before the 2 wk expected delivery. If only the cable guys had been this fast!

The Dec. 19-07 review must have been written by the owner of the place. I totally agree with the two previous posts - this place is terrible. They forgot mention to me that the product they recommended did not block out the light!! Do you think maybe that's important for blinds in the bedroom?? I ended up having to install another set of blinds behind the first set. That doubled the cost and made it a true pain the in rear to open and close. Never again!!

They go out of their way to assist their customers and even gave me a couple of parts for free. Great customer service at this small store!

First off I do not agree with the first two posts. My products were delivered ahead of schedule and the quality was amazing. The people were promt and polite. I ordered shutters and blinds for my entire house and everything turned out just how I wanted it. The sales-man was increadibly helpful, and he had several ideas for me. I am young and this is my first house and I really was not sure how to do all the decorating. I do not remember the mans name but he came to my house with samples of different products that he thought would work for me. He even came out after hours because my work schedule is very hectic. I was informed of why some products were better for my home then others. I thought the prices were very reasonable considering that they are custom and a national brand name. I will use this company every time I get a new house and I reccommend them to all my friends, co-workers, and relatives. Keep up the good work Houston Blind & Drapery!!

Rooot is exactly correct in his review! They do not deliver in the 8 to 10 weeks promised, make excuses and blame everyone but themselves. They do not return phone calls and if you happen to catch them when they answer, there are a million promises and just as many excuses as to why they were a no show, or why they won't be ready on time. They are unprofessional and unreliable. They broke a window in the process and I was extraordinarily patient in getting that repaired, but I pretty much had to get my own contractors to handle it because they were clueless as to whom to call. I too have caulking missing where the light shows through. They took two months to get the draperies done (promised in two weeks) and the shutters still are not finished - and this all started six and a half months ago. I have paid nearly $10,000 to them and still cannot get service. Unless you enjoy chasing people and fighting to get the job done, don't bother with them. It is way too much of a headache for the amount of money and quality of service that you will (or should I say won't) get. STAY AWAY!
